After nearly twenty years, Black Rock, Connecticut band The GIVE are back together making music again, celebrating the 2026 rerelease of four albums.
WESTON, CT, UNITED STATES, September 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Veteran original rock outfit The Give has officially announced its return, unveiling a refreshed lineup alongside plans to hit the live circuit starting in 2027. Based in Fairfield County, Connecticut, their music combines poetic storytelling and soulful lead vocals with rich melodic arrangements.
The reunion, after nearly twenty years, coincides with the 2026 re-release by Memory Man Records of four albums recorded by the band: “The Give (Studio Recordings),” “The Give (Studio Acoustic Recordings),” and two live albums, “Live at the Acoustic Cafe (Volumes 1 and 2).” These albums are now streaming worldwide on Spotify and Apple Music.
“The Give (Studio Recordings)” was recorded at the Carriage House Recording Studio in Stamford, CT. The two albums, “Live at the Acoustic Cafe, Volumes 1 and 2,” were recorded live at the former Acoustic Cafe, a once-prominent venue in the Black Rock, CT-music scene where the band built a substantial following. The venue is today the site of the Park City Music Hall.
The fourth album of the series, “The Give (Studio Acoustic Recordings)” is an album the band originally released in 2007, now remastered, and re-released in 2026 with new artwork by Shyloski. The album features acoustic versions of songs featured on the studio album. This album was recorded at the legendary Wallingford, Connecticut, recording studio Trod Nossel, the site of recordings by Fleetwood Mac, Chick Corea/Return to Forever, Steppenwolf, Joe Cocker, Foghat, and Michael Bolton.
A short interview-style documentary, “The GIVE – Getting the Band Back Together,” directed by John Shyloski and Marc Alan, has been released on the band’s new YouTube channel. The short film is a roundtable discussion among Cohen, Saxon, Peterson, with new member Gibson, sharing stories about the early days of the band. The video includes an impromptu acoustic/vocal performance by Saxon, Gibson, and Peterson. A shorter version of the video has been released as part of an EPK (Electronic Press Kit).
Founded in 2003 by Donald Cohen and Jon Saxon, the Fairfield County, CT-based band originally sparked from a dynamic creative partnership between Don, the poet, and Jon, the musician. After initial collaborations in their early project, Group Therapy, the duo unlocked their definitive sound with the arrival of singer and co-writer Sarah Peterson. Peterson’s captivating vocal delivery became the vessel for the band’s core philosophy: a seamless fusion where poetic lyricism and melodic rock move as one.
With the re-release of its substantial catalogue, The Give is entering its next chapter with renewed energy and an expanded roster. Joining founders Cohen and Saxon and frontwoman Peterson are seasoned musicians David Gibson (guitar, vocals) and John Shyloski (bass, audio engineering).
