Pittsburgh, PA (PRUnderground) June 25th, 2026

Pittsburgh National League is proud to announce that two Boyce Park travel flag football teams have earned their way to the NFL FLAG Championships after winning their respective regional tournaments.

The Boyce Park Jets 8U won the Jets Regional Championship, while the Boyce Park Steelers 10U won the Steelers Regional Championship. Both teams now have the opportunity to represent Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania on one of the biggest stages in youth flag football.

A Big Moment for Pittsburgh Youth Flag Football

These regional championship victories are a major accomplishment for the players, coaches, and families connected to Pittsburgh National League. Winning one regional championship is special. Having two teams from the same program win regionals in the same season shows the growth, talent, and competitive standard being built in Pittsburgh flag football.

The NFL FLAG Championships will take place July 23 through July 26 at Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Indiana, just outside Indianapolis. The event brings together top boys and girls flag football teams from across the country and internationally, giving young athletes a chance to compete against some of the best teams in the sport.

For Pittsburgh National League, this moment is bigger than one weekend. It is a reflection of years of development, coaching, commitment, and community support. Our athletes are not just playing flag football. They are helping Pittsburgh become one of the strongest youth flag football cities in the country.

This is an incredible accomplishment for both teams and a testament to the hard work of our players, coaches, and families. To have two teams qualify for the NFL FLAG Championships shows the level of talent being developed right here in Western Pennsylvania.

Teams and Coaches

  • Boyce Park Jets 8U: Jets Regional Champions. Coaches: Rashad Colvin and AJ Collins.
  • Boyce Park Steelers 10U: Steelers Regional Champions. Coaches: Larry Fielder and Maurice Williams.

Boyce Park Jets 8U

The Boyce Park Jets 8U team earned its championship by competing with confidence, toughness, and teamwork. Led by coaches Rashad Colvin and AJ Collins, the Jets showed the kind of discipline and energy that has become a standard for Pittsburgh National League teams.

At the 8U level, this kind of success is about more than wins. It is about introducing young athletes to high-level competition, helping them believe in themselves, and teaching them how to represent their team, their families, and their city with pride.

Boyce Park Steelers 10U

The Boyce Park Steelers 10U team also brought home a regional championship and punched its ticket to the NFL FLAG Championships. Coached by Larry Fielder and Maurice Williams, the Steelers have built a team identity around effort, preparation, and competitive fire.

The 10U division is one of the most competitive stages in youth flag football, and the Steelers’ earning a regional title shows the strength of the players and the leadership of their coaching staff. The same goes for the 10U division in our Boyce Park League. It’s one of the most competitive divisions we run, with over 10 teams in the division, which have held some of the closest scoring games this season.

The Road to Indianapolis

The NFL FLAG Regional Tournament Series gives teams from across the country the chance to compete for a spot at the championship level. For the Boyce Park Jets and Boyce Park Steelers, winning regionals means they now move forward with the opportunity to compete against elite teams from other cities, states, and regions.

As flag football continues to grow across the country and around the world, events like the NFL FLAG Championships are helping raise the visibility of the sport. With flag football set to be part of the 2028 Olympic Games, young athletes today are part of a movement that is changing the future of football.
